Message You can't really take a failure at 1000+ hp and say that it translates into a reliability issue for a sub 500hp setup.

an NA rear end is perfectly reliable in a 250 (cough) hp NA. Not that reliable in a 600hp TT. Crank is perfectly reliable undamped at 300rwhp and not that reliable at all at 1200hp+.

I personally think most pump gas only cars are fine undamped, and I think you would find very very few crank failures on properly running, tuned, pump gas cars. I feel extremely confident breakages are nearly 0.

bearings on the other hand is a bit more debatable....
